Ride PROS 4 a Reason! Perimeter Ride Of Seattle (PROS) - September 30, 2006 - 8:00 AM, Discovery Park The second annual Perimeter Ride of Seattle is taking place September 30, 2006 at 8:00 AM in Discovery Park, hosted by the Planet Outdoor Club. The ride will benefit Native Planet and the traditional cultures of indigenous peoples around the world. Eighty miles and 4400+ feet of elevation gain provide you with an opportunity to experience Seattle’s natural beauty from a unique perspective: a tour around its city limits. Help a great cause as you enjoy the company of friends and cycle from view to breathtaking view--mountains, the Sound, lakes and a multitude of parks. The first PROS event took place on September 5, 2005 and was a great success. View the photos, read quotes and join us this year! The Perimeter Bicycling Association of America (PBAA) has raised over 14 million dollars for charity with their unique “round about” rides. Their idea—and their success—is contagious! You can continue to support our commitment to furthering the interests of recreational cycling enthusiasts while helping raise funds and awareness for Native Planet, a 501(c)3 charity. Ride PROS 4 a Reason Cyclists are invited to make donations and/or to purchase/wear the eye-catching Native Planet jersey to promote the not-for-profit organization and raise the awareness about traditional indigenous cultures. Seattle-based Native Planet is dedicated to protecting threatened indigenous cultures worldwide by promoting the self-empowerment necessary for them to facilitate their own self-preservation. PROS is a special chance for cyclists to enjoy the richness of their own land and lifestyle, while helping traditional cultures everywhere to do the same! Because the ride is free this year; we especially encourage everyone to buy and wear our eye-catching Native Planet jersey, available beginning at 8:00 AM at the ride. These flashy jerseys are guaranteed to make you stand out wherever you ride and at whatever level; buy one and show the world your TRUE colors. A group picture of everyone in their jersey will be posted here on our site, so come out, have a terrific time and let your enjoyment help meet the needs of others! Tax-deductible donations are also welcome (a receipt will be provided upon request). We will have guides leading at various paces for people who'd like to stay with a group, while those who want will have the freedom to follow our cue sheets and road markings to hammer or ride at their own leisure. This event will start at 8:00 AM from the Discovery Park North parking lot (view map). Contact us with if you have any questions. RSVPs are encouraged. If you are unable to participate in this event, instead you can purchase a Native Planet cycling jersey to wear on other rides and/or make a donation towards the future of the world’s remaining traditional peoples. |
