The Native Planet Outdoor Club is always looking for friendly and enthusiastic cyclists to co-lead and design rides of every distance and at every level. It is a fantastic opportunity to share your cycling passion with others, make new friends, meet your training goals and support a great cause, all at the same time.
Without the work of our ride leaders/masters, NPOC couldn’t constantly aim at providing the best rides, the best parties and the best benefits to all our members. In addition to our enthusiastic gratitude, we offer our ride leaders and ride masters a free renewal of their annual membership and other gifts:

Ride Leader
Responsibilities include:
- Being present and on time at the ride you have agreed to lead
- Greeting all cyclists and telling them about the NPOC, NP and the ride
- Securing everyone’s signed liability releases with emergency contact
information
- Leading the group of cyclists at your chosen pace on a pre-designed ride
- Ensuring that all cyclists can keep up with the group
- Deciding on the number and location of regroups if any
- Returning the liability release form to NPOC
Responsibilities do not include:
- Designing new rides or routes
- Producing maps or cue-sheets
- Teaching cycling techniques

Ride Master
Responsibilities include:
- All the responsibilities of a ride leader
- Designing new routes or rides
- Submitting rides for approval, website posting and announcement to our members
- Producing detailed cue-sheets and/or maps unless it is a stay together ride
- Emailing ride announcement and any cue-sheets/maps to all NPOC
members
Responsibilities do not include:
- Teaching cycling techniques
