Dear Friends and Family,
Native Planet (www.nativeplanet.org) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping the world’s remaining indigenous peoples continue living in harmony with their environment as they always have: treating their land and resources respectfully, cultivating them sustainably and depending upon them for both physical and spiritual nourishment.
shaman Teureun, his children and his grandchildren need your help: their sustainable traditional lifestyle in the remotest jungles of Siberut, Indonesia, is close to extinction due to the voracious appetites of western “civilization.” Please join us in facilitating the self-empowerment that will help such threatened indigenous peoples protect their own lands and cultures.
On June 11, 2006, I will be riding the 126-mile Native Planet Classic, a “must do” Northwest ride that climbs 10,000 feet in the North Cascades. To earn my place at the finish-line this year, I want to ride this event as a fundraiser for Native Planet. My goal is to raise at least $1,000, but I can’t do it alone: support from you and our community will be the key to my success! Every penny counts toward my goal and I need a minimum of
20 people who’ll agree to sponsor me at 20 cents per mile. Please contact me ASAP at
(206) 316-7109 or yourinfo@youremail.com so I can record the amount you’ll contribute and the contact information I need to reconnect with you at the end of
May, share my experiences and collect your donation.
Thank you for your support!
