NP Classic & PoP Mountain Pass Training Series

If you love climbing or hate it and just want to get better at it, these rides are designed for you! We’re a fun group of cyclists of various levels (moderate to strenuous) and on Thursdays, we ride only hills to prepare us for the mountain passes we ride in late spring and summer, and for the Native Planet Classic, Passes of the Pyrenees, RAMROD and other challenging events.

We ride one of three loops between 24 and 36 miles long with 2000+ ft of elevation. The loops are scenic, but the focus of these rides is on training. Repeating one of three routes allows participants to ride at their own pace and allows us to monitor our progress. Brisk riders usually regroup on top of major hills, but slower riders are welcome to join us and shortcut our loops to finish at the same time. Super-strenuous riders are welcome to repeat the hills or ride in front. Cue sheets are not provided but we invite to view our loops on these maps.

If you want to improve your cycling or ride with a fun group of people—or both—we look forward to meeting you on our Thursday evening rides. Both front and tail lights are required in the spring.

Meeting Time: Every Thursday at 6:00 PM (starting April 12)

Meeting Place: Logboom Park, Kenmore.
(Note: Logboom was previously called Tracy Owen Station Park). Check Google Map for more directions
